Palo Santo means 'Holy Wood' in Spanish. It's burned similarly to a sage stick not only to clear energy but to attract sacredness and mindfulness to a space.
South American shamans believed burning Palo Santo had could clear energy around the body that was tainted by negativity or conflict.
From the Incan tradition, Palo Santo smoke, burned during spiritual ceremonies, was cleansing and medicinal.
