This is your chance to get your hands on a truly small-batch treasure—Balm of Gilead, a rich, golden herbal salve made with freshly foraged Cottonwood buds and St Johns Wort, slow-infused in carrier oils and blended with pain relieving and healing Lavender, Frankincense, Black Pepper and Helichrysum Pure Essential Oils.

We just LOVE the aroma of Cottonwood buds! They have a deep and gorgeous smell all to themselves. If you love heavier oils like Vetiver, Sandalwood and Frankincense, you'll love the smell of Cottonwood!

In late February we harvested the buds from Cottonwood trees then we infused them in oil for 2 months. Cottonwood buds contain a resin that has been used in healing remedies since ancient times. It helps with wound healing, bruises, swelling, joint pain, inflammation, and sore muscles.

A Bit of Backstory (with a West Coast Twist)

The name Balm of Gilead has ancient roots—literally. It originally referred to a fragrant resin harvested in the Middle East, prized for its healing and spiritual properties. People used it for everything from wound care to incense. While the original source trees (Commiphora, Balsamodendron) are still up for debate, today, the name commonly refers to a healing salve made from the buds of our own North American Cottonwood tree (Populus balsamifera).

Here on the West Coast, we harvest these Cottonwood buds in late winter and early spring, when the trees are still asleep and the resin is locked tight inside the buds. This resin is sticky, golden, and downright magical—rich in salicin (a natural pain-reliever), anti-inflammatory compounds, and wound-healing power.

• Wound healing (only apply to a closed wound, open wounds need to close up on their own before applying any healing salve or ointment)

• Bruises, sprains & sore joints

• Aches, inflammation & tired muscles

• Dry, cracked or irritated skin

How to Use:

Massage a small amount into the affected area as needed. Apply 2–3 times a day or whenever your skin needs a little extra love. For external use only.
