Tea Tree(Melaleuca alternifolia) is one of the 'must have' essential oils. It has a sharp and clean aroma and is a high note in aromatherapy.
It's a disinfecting and healing oil and is one of the few essential oils generally good for most people to apply 'neat' to the skin in small amounts (always test for skin sensitivity before applying essential oils directly on the skin). It's especially used this way for wound healing and disinfecting.
The list of uses for Tea Tree oil is long and here are a few ; acne, breathing, colds, flu, healing skin, disinfecting & household cleaners.
Caution: Do Not use Tea Tree Essential Oils on animals.

Not safe for pregnancy, it is unknown how much tea tree is absorbed through the skin and into the developing baby, and the effects that this has on a growing fetus. Tea Tree is not safe to use during breastfeeding because it is toxic for babies to ingest.
