Sodium Hyaluronate has a smaller molecular size than hyaluronic acid making it especially penetrative to the epidermis. It is able to hold more water than any other natural substance—up to 1,000 times its weight in water, and when applied topically to the skin, it can reach deep down into the skin to combine with, maintain and attract water. It also promotes nutrient absorption and helps maintain normal hydration levels on the skin.

Butylene Glycol is absorbed and broken down into “gamma-hydroxybutryic acid,” a naturally occurring compound found in skin. Made from the fermentation of corn this organic alcohol not only helps hold moisture to the skin but keeps key ingredients from separating and actually helps deliver them deeper into the skin structure for optimum moisture benefit. 

Lactic acid is derived from fruit, vegetables and other plants and is known for its skin softening abilities. It is also found in milk and that is why Cleopatra was such a fan of her famous milk baths. Lactic Acid has been known to help the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. It is also helpful to control the look of oil on the skin.
